Final Vessel of 42-Vessel Activist Fleet Halted by Israel's Military

This last vessel of the large aid flotilla attempting to breach Israel's decade-plus sea embargo on Gaza has been stopped by Israel's military personnel.

Protest Halt and Expulsion Procedures

According to government declarations, procedures are currently underway to remove the approximately nearly five hundred crew members currently in custody. Among those apprehended are several Italian parliamentarians who are expected to go back to their home country on a planned commercial flight.

Final Vessel Information

Video from late Thursday showed the remaining ship being crewed by six individuals, comprising three Turkish citizens, a Germany's citizen, and an Oman's activist. The Australia's captain of the vessel commented via video call: "We have a group of highly resilient Turkish crew aboard... we're just going to continue in our course."

As stated by a mission spokesperson, the boat had joined the mission delayed after bad weather obliged it to go back to harbor in the Catalan port.

Previous Context

The halt marks the most proximate any unapproved relief effort has gotten to the Gaza Strip coast since Israel established its sea blockade in 2009. The boat was intercepted when it was calculated to be forty-two point five sea miles from the shoreline.

Earlier endeavors by protesters to penetrate the sea embargo have been stopped by armed intervention. In twenty ten, 10 Turkey's participants were fatally wounded when Israel's special forces stormed the flagship as it headed an humanitarian fleet toward Gaza.

Further Vessel Information

Another ship identified as Mikeno was reported to have crossed into Gaza's maritime zone, idling nine maritime miles off the shoreline before being intercepted. However, coordinators indicated they had lost contact with the Mikeno crew several hours prior.

"It could be a tracker glitch or a technical difficulty with the surveillance," stated a spokesperson. "We will only have confirmation after speaking with the team, which is unfeasible currently as they are being detained by Israel's forces."

Present Circumstances

All held crew members from the fleet are being moved to Israeli territory where they will undergo removal proceedings. Some participants on this current flotilla, featuring well-known figure the environmental campaigner, have been previously apprehended by Israeli authorities while attempting to breach the restriction.

In the past, protesters detained by Israel have not been criminally prosecuted and their presence has been treated as an immigration concern rather than a legal infraction.
