Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring near a popular southern California coastline suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a row of palm trees as spectators observed.
Recordings shared on the internet capture the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a steps near the coastal road.
First Aid Details
Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were harmed. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
